| The first reliable records of Tricesimo Castle date back to the 13th century. According to a document from 1253, the building was inhabited by the noble Tricesimo family. Towards the end of the century, it was purchased by the Della Torre lords, who made it a fiefdom subject to the Patriarchate of Aquileia. It was besieged numerous times between 1305 and 1310, passing from hand to hand until it became the property of the Valentinis counts, who oversaw the renovation of the fortification, giving it the form that can still be seen today.
